Nutrition Consults
Cats face many challenges related to feeding, which we at Mielikki have a lot of experience in solving. Common problems include obesity, finding a suitable food for an allergic cat, or keeping a senior cat with diabetes lean and healthy.
Cats have sensitive taste buds, and navigating the pet food industry can feel like a maze. That is why we at Mielikki have a particularly wide and tasty selection of diets and supplements, also for allergic or sensitive cats.
Experts at your service
Our veterinary nurse Suvi Kukanaho has undergone advanced training in feline nutrition. At this stage, Suvi does not plan diets consisting solely of raw food for cats, but 50-50 diets are possible. When compiling a diet for a sick cat, Suvi collaborates with veterinarian Julia Haukilintu, who has also undergone further training in clinical feline nutrition.
Nutritional consults are divided into three different categories:

Nutritional consult for overweight or underweight cats 115 €Includes collection of background information, a visit with a nutritionist nurse, sending of feeding instructions by email, and one follow-up visit. Additional follow-up visits are arranged separately as needed.

Nutritional consult for cats with underlying medical conditions 95 €Includes collecting background information, a visit with a nutritionist nurse, and sending feeding instructions by email. Possible follow-up visits are arranged separately as needed. Intended for cats with one of the following underlying medical conditions: allergies, diabetes, or urinary crystals. For other medical conditions, please inquire with the clinic about the suitability of the visit before booking an appointment.

Nutritional consult for a healthy cat 75 €Includes collecting background information, a visit with a nutritionist nurse, and sending feeding instructions by email. Possible follow-up visits are arranged separately as needed. Intended for healthy kittens, adults, and senior cats whose owner wants to feed their cat industrial food or a 50-50 diet (50% industrial food, 50% raw food).
We treat patients in need of nutritional advice with a veterinarian’s referral. With a referal, remote consultations are also available. In these cases, the patient visits their own veterinarian for check-ups, where the cat’s well-being, current weight, and a body condition score, muscle condition score are evaluated. These results are then communicated with our trained nurse.
