Feline internal medicine covers a wide range of illnesses that can affect the digestive tract, liver, kidneys, pancreas, metabolism, and respiratory system, among others. Many internal diseases progress with very few to no symptoms in the early stages. This is why early recognition of any illnesses is important and improves the long-term prognosis and well-being of your cat.
The spectrum of symptoms is wide, but may include behavioral changes, increased urination and drinking, diarrhea, vomiting, heart burn, constipation, weight loss, skin rash, itching, cough, respiratory noise, respiratory distress and changes in appetite.
Comprehensive diagnostics
At Mielikki cat clinic we have access to a high-quality ultrasound machine, X-rays and extensive laboratory facilities. We are able to take fine-needle aspirates from both the skin and many internal organs. Our clinic also has a blood pressure device and a tonometer for eye pressure measurement.
Our clinic has strong expertise in internal medicine for feline patients. We will design an individual treatment plan for each cat together with the cat parent, taking into account both the pet’s health status and the owner’s wishes and possibilities.
